Northside Sandwich Week and Deutschtown Music Festival

Forget the hassles of driving and parking Downtown - the Northside is the place to be this summer! Here are some of our favorite events taking place this spring and summer. We hope to see you there!

Northside Sandwich Week

Northside Sandwich Week is from May 17th to 27th, 2018. Signature sandwiches are made and sampled at participating restaurants all week long.

This year's participants include Badamo’s Pizza, Brugge on North, Chateau Café and Cakery, Fig & Ash, Flavors Street Food, Huszar, Kaffeehaus, Legends Eatery, Penn Brewery, River’s Casino, Threadbare Cider House & Meadery and more.

Sample the new sandwich creations from the participating restaurants and vote for the Sandwich King or Queen of 2018! This tasty event is produced by the Northside Leadership Conference and presented by Highmark.

Deutschtown Music Festival

SSB is again sponsoring this free two-day indoor/outdoor music festival, returning July 13th and 14th, 2018.

Voted “Best Music Festival” in 2016 and 2017 and “Best Street Festival” in 2017 by Pittsburgh City Paper, the Deutschtown Music Festival has become one the most significant local music events of the year. With over 200 bands, seven outdoor stages, and 26 indoor venues, the festival has a little of something for everybody.

Two main stages are featured during the day, one in Allegheny Commons Park and the other on a closed-off block of Foreland Ave. A beer garden will exist in a closed-off portion of the city-owned parking lot next to the main stage. Family-friendly programming is featured during the daytime, with over 20 food trucks, children’s activities, an artists’ market, and other activities to supplement the music. Throughout the day and night, two free shuttles with multiple stops in the North Side and North Shore will be available for the over 20,000 people that are expected to attend.

No tickets are required, just mark your calendar. For more information, visit the Deutschtown Music Festival's website.
