Changes to Bank's Software (and what you need to do)

5/15/2019

update notification for changes to ssb bank softwareSSB Bank customers have received an email about upcoming changes with the bank's core software.

As a follow up to our previous email, we wanted to provide you with some more detailed information regarding our core software upgrade that is happening over the weekend of May 18th and 19th.  We are very excited for the upgrade as it will streamline a number of our processes, but better yet, it will positively impact the customer experience.

Our current core software will be turned off on Friday, May 17th at 5pm.  The new core software will be live at 9am Monday, May 20th.

Note: you cannot register a new Online Banking Account until Monday, May 20.

Below are some details regarding the core conversion and how it may impact you:

Online Banking Users – If you’re an online banking user (meaning you log into online banking through a web browser) and a mobile banking user (meaning you log into our app on your smartphone or other device) you’ve probably noticed that the two systems – online banking and mobile banking – looked quite different and did not use the same username and password.  That’s because currently they are two different systems.  Moving forward, online and mobile banking will be the SAME system.  This means you’ll have one username and password for both, and when you update a password or update any other features, you’ve updated it for both online and mobile banking.

Starting on May 20th, online banking will look very similar to the existing mobile banking app but it will have all of the functionality as before.  Please see the step by step instructions below to continue banking online.

After the change on May 20th, please note that bill pay may not be available immediately.  It may take up to 1 day to become available.  Once that happens, you’ll want to make sure that your bill pay payees have all transferred correctly, and you’re seeing the correct account data.  If you have any recurring transactions or bill payments or transfers scheduled to leave after May 17th, you’ll want to make sure they’re transferred to the new system correctly.

Mobile Banking Users - For personal mobile banking, there will be an update to our app that will be available on May 20th.  Once you download the update, you’ll be able to log in using your current username and password, and you’ll be prompted to complete the verification process if you haven’t already done so online.  Once that is complete, you’ll be ready to proceed with mobile banking.  Our updated app will have more functionality than the existing app.

For business mobile banking, there will be a new app available for download.  You can search for the app by keying “SSB Bank PGH Biz”.  Your credentials will be delivered to you prior to the start date, so please look out for future communications.

Remote Merchant Capture Users – For our remote capture users (those with check scanners installed) you will access a new link (https://ssbbank.bankserv.com/webclient/) to log into the remote merchant capture portal.  We will contact you individually with credential information.  Your accounts and users will be built for you, but you’ll want to double check that all of your proper accounts are linked to the portal.  The first time that you log in, you’ll go through a short series of prompts to configure the scanner to the new portal.  You do NOT need to get a new scanner.

Debit Card/ATM Users – If you need to make a purchase or an ATM withdrawal over the period from 5pm Friday, May 17th to 9am Monday, May 20th, there will be a $250 per day cash withdrawal limit and a $500 per day limit on point-of-sale debit card transactions.  We apologize for this temporary inconvenience, but all limits will return to normal after the conversion period is over on the morning of Monday, May 20th.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding any of the above, please feel free to contact us at 412-837-6955.  We are happy to help.  Thank you for your patience over this short conversion period and we are looking forward to better-serving our customers for years to come.

Sincerely,

J. Daniel Moon, IV
President and CEO
SSB Bank
