We are Committed to Continuing to Serve Our Community

3/14/2020

The following letter was shared with our customers via email on March 14, 2020 to communicate our response and planned initiatives related to COVID-19:

As your trusted, local community financial institution, we wanted to share information with you regarding actions and policies we have implemented to safeguard the health of our members and employees while continuing to provide convenient access to your accounts in branches and online. We recognize that this is a very trying time for everyone as we all continue to monitor the developments related to COVID-19.

SAFETY IS A PRIORITY:
Consistent with recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), we ask all customers and employees who may be sick to stay home and avoid coming in to minimize the spread of any viruses in the branches. We also have contingency plans in place that are designed to prevent service disruptions due to events of this type, which include remote access capabilities, alternate work locations for employees and continuity plans for critical operations.

ABUNDANCE OF CAUTION:
Out of an abundance of caution, and as part of our ongoing efforts to protect the health and safety of our employees and customers, we have initiated alternative ways to meet with customers, vendors, and other partners of the Bank. We’ve developed comprehensive plans to ensure we are prepared to adapt to the changing ways we may have to do business. Additionally, we committed to sharing health and wellness information with our employees and partners, including prevention tips, from the CDC.

BANKING CHANNELS:
Our branches are not the only way to access your funds and your account information. We strongly recommend that you leverage all available SSB Bank tools for self-service banking. Our Mobile app and Online Banking services provide 24/7 account access. Through these channels, you have options to check balances, view accounts, transfer funds, deposit checks, and pay bills without the need to come in to a branch. If you are not currently enrolled in Online or Mobile Banking, please visit our website to sign up at any time. If you need assistance with the process, please stop by any branch or call us at 412-837-6955. Please be aware that our hold times may be slightly longer due to the increased call volume. You can also email us with any questions at [email protected]. SSB also has a drive-through service at the McCandless location that is available during business hours and all transactions through any ATM continue to be free of charge to our customers. Lastly, beware of scams that unfortunately continue to be part of the vigilance that we all have become accustom to.

With the current economic uncertainty, you can rest assured that your funds at SSB Bank are federally insured by the FDIC up to $250,000 per member. Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) are federally insured up to an additional $250,000. For more information about FDIC insurance coverage of transaction accounts, visit fdic.gov.

Our leadership team is staying closely connected and working tirelessly to advance our preparedness and respond appropriately. Although it is impossible for anyone to predict the spread of Coronavirus and fully understand its impact, it does not alter SSB’s focus on continuing to serve you – our customers. As mentioned above, we have the people, technology, products, services and tools to do that.  Please visit CDC.gov for the latest information about the Coronavirus and continue to watch for updates on our website or in future emails.

Sincerely,

J. Daniel Moon, IV
